Swinton, the UK's leading high street home
In the last twelve months the Cheshire homes of Manchester United's Darren Fletcher and Manchester City's Roque Santa Cruz, located just a few hundred yards from each other, have both been targeted. Thieves have also broken in to the north west homes of premiership footballers Emile Heskey, Steven Gerrard and Phil Jagieka.
Steve Chelton, Insurer Development Manager at Swinton said: "According to recent British Crime Survey figures burglary rates still remain high and could stay that way in light of the difficult economic climate.
"Swinton recommend that homeowners ensure they activate burglar alarms. Failing to activate an alarm can invalidate a claim should you be unfortunate enough to be burgled."
